In his remarkable journey with prolific milestones and unique experiences, Dr. Shaji K Ayillath has always been passionate about bringing forward his exemplary contributions in the field of surgical oncology. He has followed his ambition and exhibited his skills in different arenas across the globe. In spite of crossing the seas to explore the possibilities and opportunities in the field, Dr. Shaji chose to return to his roots as he realized that the treatment facilities in his homeland deserve more attention and development. From that moment onwards, he is significantly creating a difference in the medical field by bringing forward initiatives to lead the ailing ones to their cure.

Dr. Shaji K Ayillath has been practicing as a consultant oncosurgeon in eminent hospitals of Kerala with over a decade’s experience. He gives his prime focus over breast oncoplastic surgeries and is one of the pioneers in the arena of reconstructive surgeries, thus leading him to perform the first-ever Hybrid Silicon Implant Reconstruction for Carcinoma Breast in Kerala. He has successfully performed more than 3000 complex cancer surgeries.

He has also come forward with initiatives to support cancer patients and other people associated with them. His ventures include the Eulive clinic, which helps the patients in the early detection of cancer. This was initiated to develop treatment styles similar to European standards. He is also the medical advisor of Cancure, an NGO initiated in 2010. Along with early detection and treatment, this organization developed mobile mammogram units as well. He has also conducted a large number of awareness and early detection camps along with various media campaigns.


He has completed his MBBS and MS in general surgery from Calicut Medical College. He has also completed a fellowship program in oncosurgery training at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Ernakulam. Further, he worked as a surgical registrar (oncology) at Apollo hospital, Chennai. The National Board of Examinations awarded him the DNB and further he was elected as the Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. He was awarded the EBSQ qualification from the European Association of Surgical Oncology and UEMS, Brussels. He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
